Secret Ubers Hit The Streets Of Hong Kong!
Hong Kong got a taste of Uber during this year’s Rugby Sevens, and we couldn’t wait to return. Today the wait is finally over: secret Ubers are on the road in Hong Kong!
In this city full of transportation choices, Uber brings a reliable, comfortable, seamless option to the mix. Whether you’re rushing to get home from a long day’s work in Central, treating a special someone to a night at a gourmet private kitchen in Sai Ying Pun, or shopping in Causeway Bay, Uber is here for you.
Our secret Uber roll-out didn’t stay secret for long. Amanda Strang aka “Amanda S” was first to hear that secret Ubers had arrived. When the fashion model, jet-setter, and entrepreneur extraordinaire had no time to spare after an event in Wan Chai, she checked her Uber app. Within minutes, a Mercedes S Class was there to the rescue.
Carl Ng, international actor and local investor, also caught wind that Uber was in town and quickly grabbed his smartphone to book a ride. Carl’s Uber arrived shortly to take him through Central to meet a friend.
Now it’s your turn! With the push of a button, a sleek 4-passenger sedan (UberSedan) or a fierce 6-passenger van (UberXL) will be at your door in minutes. Prices can be found here.
For those who haven’t used Uber, simply:
- Download the Uber App to your iPhone or Android device.
- Register with your Visa or Mastercard.
- Request, ride and tell your friends!
During this initial testing period, car availability will be limited and primarily focused on Central and the surrounding neighborhoods. If you are lucky enough to grab a ride, please let us know how it goes at supportHK@uber.com. Be sure to follow @Uber_HK on Twitter and Instagram to catch important tips and updates!
We’re excited to launch Payment Rewards — a way to discover, track, and redeem rewards right in the Uber app. We’re kicking it off with Capital One®, where every 10th ride is free (up to $15) when you pay with a Quicksilver® or QuicksilverOne® card through March 2017.
Today, I’m excited to announce that Arianna Huffington will join Uber’s board. For those of us who know Arianna, it’s clear she knows a thing or two about being an entrepreneur. As the founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, she’s built one of the most successful, innovative media companies in the world… from scratch. […]
