Uber makes its debut at the Cannes Film Festival
While the jury debates over lighting, technique and the merits of each film in competition, we can all agree that getting home from those late-night soirées and getting back and forth from the airport has been a headache for many over the years. Thousands of filmmakers, actors, and producers will converge on the small town of Cannes from May 15th to the 26th, with the hopes of making their next deal.
That’s why Uber is excited to be a part of this prestigious event and make sure you get to where you need to go in style.
The “Classe” rides
You’ll see some of the most elegant cars to ever grace the Uber system in Cannes, from Mercedes Classe S to BMW Serie 7. Uber will be running 24/7, so for those festival-goers running low on on sleep, curling up in the back of an Uber will be a cozy ride to wherever you need to get to next.
As always, we’re working with local drivers who know the back routes of Cannes and how to avoid the jam-packed “Croisette” boulevard. You can grab an Uber as soon as you arrive at the Nice airport, or at the Cannes train station.
The Generous Gala
Uber is proud to be partnering with The Heart Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting the first cause of death in the world: Cardiac Diseases. The Heart Fund provides free surgery to sick children and builds hospitals in order to bring back equity in the health care system.
On May 21st, The Heart Fund will be holding its first Gala, The Generous People Gala, at the Hotel Carlton. Over 200 guests are expected, including international Ambassadors and royalty, with the aim of raising funds to finance the construction of a hospital in Haiti, as well as the training of medical personnel and funding surgeries for children with heart disease. The Heart Fund hopes to raise the necessary funds for the operation of 100 children.
Uber will be donating 1€ for every rider during the entire Festival (May 15-26), and 10€ for every rider going to the Generous Gala to the Heart Fund’s generous cause.
Help us spread the word of Uber in Cannes, and help the Heart Fund make a difference in the world.

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
