Expanding Access to Ridesharing Benefits to All of Washington

From Seattle to Spokane to Vancouver, tens of thousands of Washington residents have come to depend on ridesharing services like Uber. Over the past year, we have worked diligently with many local leaders to ensure that Uber has a permanent home in these cities. Now, we are working with state leaders to bring the benefits of ridesharing to all of Washington and to improve service in cities like Seattle and Tacoma.

The Washington State Legislature is currently debating several bills that make it possible for residents in all corners of the state to have access to safe, affordable and reliable rides while creating thousands of jobs and supporting small businesses.

If you agree that it is now time for all of Washington to have access to ridesharing, make your voice heard and tell your representative that Washington needs Uber.

State representatives have the chance to embrace innovation, protect public safety, and grow consumer choice in all of Washington. Streamlined regulations across the state, rather than a patchwork of ordinances, will lead to better service in every city.

The state of Washington is near and dear to us. Seattle was the third city where Uber launched just 4 years ago. We are now operating in 300 cities around the world and serve 68% of the U.S. population. During this short time, we have seen a 10% reduction in DUI rates in Seattle, have partnered with thousands of residents who are building their own businesses with a flexible income opportunity, and continue to become part of the fabric of the communities we serve by working with local groups—from the Tacoma DUI Task Force to the Russell Wilson Passing Academy–to leverage our technology to tackle issues facing the community.

Together, we can ensure that state leaders know that all of Washington deserves access to the benefits of ridesharing. Let your representative know that having access to the benefits of ridesharing in all of Washington is important to you.
