It’s Lazy Day: 10 ways to max how you relax
Look at you go, nonstop from sunrise to sunset and beyond. It’s high time you took a day for yourself, because you are anything but lazy. And so, in honor of Lazy Day, we’re not even going to give you tips, tricks or hacks, just a loose list of suggestions for a restful day of care, just for you.
For Lazy Day, why don’t you…
Float in a pool. Find a pool and a floatie and let your mind drift. Bonus if you get food delivered poolside.
Catch some extra zzzzs. Bed is a good place to begin a day of rest. Don’t set an alarm and get up when you “run out of sleep.” Schedule breakfast to be delivered in bed and enjoy even more time with your comforter and pillows.
Say hello to comfy clothes. Cotton pjs, soft sweats, the easiest yoga pants, a Hawaiian shirt, your oldest jeans—whatever, as long as it doesn’t pinch or constrict. That’s your Lazy Day uniform. Wear it and feel the aaah.
Soak it in. Take the longest, hottest bath today. Maybe add lavender bath salts, candles and some relaxing music. Do a soothing face mask.
Naptime in a hammock. This is the ultimate Lazy Day “activity.” No hammock? No problem. A chaise lawn chair or even just a soft blanket on the grass will also work. And if it’s rainy, the couch is always there for you.
Avoid “looking it up.” Today, if you don’t remember the name of the guy who was in that thing, or which state produces the most of something, don’t worry about it.
Move at your own pace. Meander, mosey, saunter, roam. Walk in the neighborhood, along the beach or in a park. You have nowhere to be—except wherever you choose to be.
Binge-watch. Lazy Day is the day to finally see all 50 seasons of (any show you want).
Read that book. Or that stack of magazines. Any reading material that’s you’ve set aside due to your busy schedule is perfect for your mental relaxation today.
Let someone else cook. What’s your comfort food? Ramen? Pancakes? Meatloaf and mashed potatoes? Get it delivered today. All you have to do is tap the app and deliciousness will be knocking on your door. Bonus: No dishes to wash.
Just do what you want. Today, it’s your choice. Take care of you.
