Our friends at Fitness in Qatar have also left some health tips for you to make the best out of Sports Day this year:

  1. The morning and evening might be chilly – bring a light weight cardigan or long-sleeved top that you can throw on if it gets cold, and take off and tie around your waist if it gets warm.
  2. Don’t forget to stay hydrated. All those sports games and fitness activities will make you thirsty. Bring water or make sure to pick up water from nearby vendors.
  3. Make healthy choices. National Sports Day isn’t just about getting active – it’s about being healthy too. Bring your own healthy snacks to keep you fueled throughout the day, or choose a healthy snack from nearby vendors.
  4. Do not forget breakfast. Before leaving your home to enjoy sports day outside, do not skip the healthiest meal of the day.
  5. Stay safe. Make sure you listen to the instructions fitness instructors give you.
  6. Equipment choices. Make sure you choose equipment you are able to and allowed to use, no one likes an unwanted injury!
  7. Know when to stop. Listen to your body and know when you have had enough. Allow enough time to rest and catch your breath and a sip of water.
  8. Sportsmanship. Remember to stay positive and motivate your fellow sports men and women.
  9. Have fun! National Sports Day is a great opportunity to go out with your friends, families, and loved ones, and show them that being active is fun!
