Welcome us back…but only for Ice Cream Day
Long time no see. We’ve been busy since our paths last crossed, moving into more than 140 cities around the globe and connecting riders and drivers with a variety of transportation options.
From Singapore to Bogota, cities are loving the benefits of the Uber platform: an increased supply of safe, reliable rides; new economic opportunities for drivers; and fewer incidents of drivers under the influence and taxi complaints. It’s been a fun ride, but we’ve missed you.
That’s why we chose Vancouver as one of the cities where we’re celebrating Ice Cream Day. Vancouverites may not have access to the safe, reliable transportation alternatives the Uber app facilitates (yet), but your need for ice cream desserts deserves our full attention.
When we first met, our innovative model of connecting riders with drivers was in its infancy. But that didn’t stop the entrenched, taxi industry from seeing the threat to their high priced monopoly on the Vancouver market and using their political power to ice us out of town.
Today, the Uber platform is transforming the way modern cities move. It is giving residents and tourists another option for getting from point A to B, and giving drivers a flexible and lucrative source of income.
We hope that Ice Cream Day is a satisfying start to a new beginning for Uber Vancouver, and can hardly wait until the day when we can give you the full scoop.

We’re excited to launch Payment Rewards — a way to discover, track, and redeem rewards right in the Uber app. We’re kicking it off with Capital One®, where every 10th ride is free (up to $15) when you pay with a Quicksilver® or QuicksilverOne® card through March 2017.
Today, I’m excited to announce that Arianna Huffington will join Uber’s board. For those of us who know Arianna, it’s clear she knows a thing or two about being an entrepreneur. As the founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, she’s built one of the most successful, innovative media companies in the world… from scratch. […]
