Happy Mother’s Day to all Uber moms!
On this maternal celebration day, we asked Vincent and his mother Marise–both driver-partners in Montreal–to share their Uber story.
Vincent, how did you hear about Uber?
I think I saw it on social media. I’ve been breakdancing for 13 years, so I was looking for a job that would also allow me to focus on my dance.
Marise, how did you react when Vincent told you he was an Uber driver-partner?
I was worried. I was afraid something would happen to him, with all I hear in the media.
Vincent, what did you do to convince your mother to become a partner?
Nothing! My mother saw how much fun I was having and she wanted to try it too. After each day of driving with Uber, I told her all the stories about the people I’d met. I also showed her my income.
My mother is a go-getter and an inspiring woman, nothing can stop her. She is easy going, very open and has a great self-confidence. I find it funny that she now drives with Uber too. It’s cute! When my mother became a driver-partner, I was her first rider (laughs)!
Marise, tell us what it means for you to be a female driver?
It makes me feel proud, I love what I do. This opportunity came into my life at the perfect time. I’m a feminist, I’m daring and not afraid of anything. I’m young at heart, so having all of these dynamic people in my car gives me positive energy. Uber allows me to travel the world because my passengers come from everywhere. It’s wonderful because traveling is my passion. Uber is also a great source of income for my retirement.
In three words, what is Uber to you?
Marise: Ease, flexibility, à l’avant-garde.
Vincent: Flexibility, networking, innovation.
Happy Mother’s Day to Marise and all the other mothers (driving with Uber)!

A little over a year ago, we set out to put a new spin on an old classic–make reliable food delivery available at the tap of a button. Back then, we started by offering food in the UberEATS app from 1,000 pioneering restaurant partners in four cities. And today, more than 40,000 restaurants globally–from poke shops to pasta spots–are sharing food with customers through UberEATS. With a growing restaurant community comes more choices and more complexity. So we’re cooking up features to continue to make UberEATS easy and reliable. Here is a taste–
