Keeping Toronto Moving During All-Star Weekend

Last weekend, we welcomed the All-Star Game to our city. Torontonians and visitors from around the world were wowed by basketball’s finest, not to mention all the exciting sights and sounds that Toronto has to offer.

By the time we saw the final slam dunk on Sunday, 13,000+ visitors from 231 cities around the world had taken Uber throughout the weekend. Both visitors and Torontonians alike shared their rides with almost 50,000 people by choosing to ride in an uberPOOL—this means there were more people in fewer cars and less congestion to help us all get around our city.

In addition to the 3,000+ riders from across the province that came into the city and took Uber, we had almost 8,000 riders visiting from 93 cities in the United States, with the majority of riders hailing from these top basketball towns:

  • NYC – 2,000+ riders
  • LA – 1,000+ riders
  • San Francisco – Almost 1,000 riders
  • Chicago – 500+ riders
  • Miami – Almost 500 riders

We also welcomed riders from around the globe including 500+ from 53 cities in Europe and the Middle East and 400+ from 36 cities in Asia.

With thousands of visitors and over $100M in expected economic benefit to our city, we’ve never been prouder to provide Toronto and its guests with safe and reliable transportation options to explore our great city.
