More than 2000 Uber driver-partners call Dorchester and Roxbury home – neighborhoods that have been traditionally underserved by Boston transportation options. These entrepreneurs have helped keep Boston and surrounding neighborhoods moving, especially during the harsh winters we’ve experienced.
In 2014, driver-partners from Dorchester and Roxbury earned over $10 million dollars in Uber fares, driving on a flexible schedule they set to provide for themselves and their families. Just this year, these partners have already completed over 500,000 trips.
This week, we hosted a Partner Appreciation Lunch in Dudley Square to celebrate these amazing women and men. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet them, hear their stories, and see new friendships form in the community.
“You deserve to be recognized. We are so grateful for your partnership in bringing safe, reliable, and affordable rides to our local neighborhoods.” – Cathy Zhou, General Manager, Uber Boston
“After a year and a half of enjoying the flexibility of being my own boss, I can’t even imagine going back to a life of nine-to-five.” – Bev, Uber Driver-Partner
