uberPOP, at your service, Bruxellois!
Since launching in February this year, uberPOP has been embraced by the Bruxellois with overwhelming demand from both riders and drivers. By providing an innovative, safe, reliable and hassle free transportation option whenever and wherever a Bruxellois or visitor needs it, the economic activity and choice generated by Uber’s platform in the market has been simply unmatched.
However, not everyone has reacted with the same enthusiasm to more choice for riders and driver. And though trying to limit choice doesn’t ever seem like a good idea, it was nevertheless the idea behind the recent lawsuit filed by Brussels radio taxi companies, big companies that have failed consumers, drivers and the city of Brussels over and over again.
If anyone should be filing lawsuits, it’s Brussels consumers and Brussels taxi drivers – to stand up against all those who have been trying to protect the Brussels taxi market’s vested interests for decades and who are continuously trying to block their options.
Uber was founded on the idea that both riders and drivers should have access to an innovative and efficient transportation service. Keeping this interest at heart, we will continue to fight for accessible solutions that are reliable, safe and convenient.
We’re excited to launch Payment Rewards — a way to discover, track, and redeem rewards right in the Uber app. We’re kicking it off with Capital One®, where every 10th ride is free (up to $15) when you pay with a Quicksilver® or QuicksilverOne® card through March 2017.
