Uber Takes A Plunge With Olympic Diver Matt Mitcham!

Diving in!

Uber is diving Down Under with Olympic diving champion, Matt Mitcham!

Matt’s a busy guy.  When he isn’t at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre repeatedly climbing up 40 steps to the top of the 10m platform, he enjoys ducking down to Knox St in Double Bay for some shopping and lunch.

Matt doesn’t have time to stand on the street waiting for a taxi, so today he opened up his Uber app, pressed a button, and moments later he could see on the map that Ronny would arrive in 7 minutes.  Matt stayed at his desk to knock out a few more emails until he saw the slick black on black Uber roll up outside his home.

Uber is now officially in “test mode”, so YOU can request an Uber TOO! Availability is limited until our official launch while we tinker with pricing, placement, and positioning. If you’re one of the lucky few able to grab an Uber, please shoot us heaps of feedback on your experience to supportsydney@uber.com or over twitter @Uber_Sydney.

Thanks for trying us out @matthew_mitcham! We plan to make a bigger splash in Sydney than one of your dives 🙂
