5 Fun Things for Couples to Do in Toronto
If you’re looking for something fun to do as a couple in Toronto, you have plenty of options since the city is filled with interesting things to see and do. But it can be easy to end up at the same restaurants, bars, and coffee shops over and over—and no one wants to feel like they’re in a romantic rut. So if you and your sweetie are in the market to mix things up a bit, we’re here to help. Save time and stress and hop in an Uber to check out some of the fun, unique things couples can do in Toronto.
Take a Brewery Tour
Going to a bar or pub is always a good option. But for something a little different, beer-loving couples in Toronto can bond over their preferred beverage with a brewery tour, of which there are many to choose from in the city. Brewery tours give you the chance to learn more about the process that goes into creating some of your favorite craft beers, and (bonus), you’ll usually get to sample some. Amsterdam Brewery offers tours at both their Leaside Brewery and the lakeside Amsterdam BrewHouse. Free tours last around 30 minutes and include a sample of beer. Other options for Toronto brewery tours include Steam Whistle, Henderson, and Great Lakes Brewing Co.
Cozy Up at a Board Game Café
Board game cafes have proven to be a very popular way to spend time in Toronto. If you’ve never considered incorporating a little healthy competition into date night, a night playing board games might be in order. Or consider teaming up with another couple to expand the types of games you can play. Snakes & Lattes have two locations in Toronto. A $5 admission fee gets you access to their vast library of games. There’s also a food and drink menu in case you need to refuel while you play.
Make It a Museum Date
The next time you’re looking for something to do in the city as a couple, think about visiting a museum. There’s no shortage of options, making it easy to get your arts and culture fix on a date. Not only will you be learning something new, but visiting a museum can help spark great post-date conversation based on what you’ve seen and experienced together. The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is a good place to start, then on your next museum date, check out the beautiful Aga Khan Museum or the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).
Try a Cooking Class
Whether you’re a couple who regularly cooks together, or you’re both interested in learning a new cuisine or picking up some new kitchen tricks, a cooking class can make for a unique and romantic night out and inspire a whole new roster of recipes to try at home. Dish offers several hands-on cooking classes where participants learn to make (and then get to enjoy) a four-course meal, or try one of their workshops which focus more on specific skills. Learn everything from pastry-making to authentic Italian at Cookery, or take in-depth Indian cooking classes at Arvinda’s. You can also find couples’ cooking classes at Aphrodite Cooks and Crillo’s Culinary Acadamy, while various Loblaws and Superstore locations in Toronto offer a wide variety of classes to choose from.
Get Creative and Paint Together
You don’t have to feel like Picasso to have fun with a paint brush, and getting creative on a date is a great way to shake things up and do something interactive as a duo. Paintlounge has two locations in Toronto (and one in Markham), and supplies everything you’ll need to paint whatever you want. Either work on your own canvas or share one to create something together. The artist staff is on hand to offer tips or help if you need it. There’s a café on site serving hot and cold beverages to sip while you paint.
