Spring is finally upon us, which means soon, we’ll have relief from the short winter days and cold weather. And for our restaurant partners, that means they get to showcase this season’s delicious veggies and fruits. Spring gives us a chance for a renewed sense of healthy living and eating and luckily for busy eaters, food delivery isn’t just about pizza and Chinese food like it once was—thousands of eaters around the world are turning to UberEATS for fresh and nutritious meals every day.
In anticipation of the fresh ingredients that often accompany the fast-approaching warmer months, we’re unveiling the healthy foods we predict will be most popular in 2017, according to UberEATS order patterns so far this year. And to celebrate the unique food culture of each city, we also looked at the most popular healthy foods across the country. Here is the full list:

Topping the list is the reigning king of healthy food trends, avocado. Not only is it the most popular healthy food trend, it’s also the most popular healthy food in over 16 cities across the country, so don’t expect to see this delicious ingredient disappear anytime soon. This may be because of the fruit’s versatility—whether it’s atop a slice of toast, inside a taco, or baked alongside eggs, restaurants have found countless ways to incorporate avocado into their menus.
No. 2 on the list is the Hawaiian raw fish salad, poke. In recent years, the poke trend has spread first to Southern California and then nationwide. The new wave of mainland purveyors generally serve poke in a bowl with sushi rice and—in keeping with the trend of customizable dishes—your choice of toppings like seaweed and ginger.
Meanwhile, the one-time healthy food giant, kale, has fallen out of the top 5 to make room for newcomers like bulgur, bok choy and bone broth.
