The people of Texas have spoken. In one week, 100,000 Texans urged their state legislators to support statewide regulations for ridesharing.
The House Transportation Committee met earlier today to discuss a bill to create modern statewide regulations for this new industry. If the 100,000-plus people that signed the petition came to Austin to show their support, it would have filled Darrell K Royal Stadium.
What are they saying?
This tremendous outpouring of support – the fastest growing petition in Uber history – demonstrates how much Texans love Uber, and the positive impact ridesharing has made in their communities. We would like to thank every one of our supporters.
Together, we hope to establish smart, ridesharing regulations that protect public safety, increase transportation options, expand economic opportunity and ensure Uber has a permanent home here in Texas.
