Silicon Valley, We’re Giving Thanks with Free UberX Rides!
Since uberX launched in Silicon Valley last July, residents from University Avenue all the way down to Santana Row have embraced low-cost Uber rides. It’s pretty clear that #SVLOVESuberX — and now it’s time for us to return the favor.
Next week, while families and friends are gathering together to give thanks, we’ll be showing our gratitude by offering two FREE uberX trips (up to $30 each) to everyone in the South Bay! Take your free rides between Monday, November 25 and Sunday, December 1 using the code below:
Promo code: <<<SVLOVESuberX>>>
Valid for two uberX trips up to $30 each from 11/25/2013 at 12:01 a.m. through 12/1/2013 at 11:59 p.m. Rides must begin or end in Silicon Valley
(Redwood City to San Jose).
There are so many local treasures that we’re grateful to have here, so use your free rides to take advantage of perks at some of our favorite businesses in the area. Work up a sweat for less at SoulCycle or The Dailey Method when you show your Uber receipt, and then reward yourself with something tasty (and free!) from Pizza My Heart, Sprinkles Cupcakes, or Pinkberry.
We have other fun surprises in store for you, too. A tricked-out Nest fire truck will be on the uberX system on Tuesday, November 26. Lucky riders who happen to request and get picked up by the big blue rig will receive a free Nest Protect smoke alarm (valued at $129). And on Wednesday, November 27, Ford will be putting ten C-MAX hybrid cars on uberX. For every ride taken in a C-MAX, Ford is donating $1 per mile to local charity Second Harvest Food Bank.
Keep in mind that there will be high demand for uberX during this promotion and it may take a few tries to get a car. We anticipate that everyone will be able to take advantage of their free trips, but — if you’re in a rush — remember that UberBLACK and UberSUV are always available to get you where you need to go.
Thanks again for helping us grow and expand our service on the peninsula, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @Uber_SV with any questions. May your cup runneth over this Thanksgiving, and may your Uber runneth right on time!

We have developed a new pilot program – Xchange Leasing – which is a leasing option administered by an Uber subsidiary and designed to fit with the flexibility that drivers value most. The Xchange lease is one of a kind, and offers value that traditional auto leases do not provide. Unlike most multi-year leases that have high fees for early termination, drivers who participate in Xchange for at least 30 days will be able to return the car with only two weeks notice, and limited additional costs. The program allows for unlimited mileage and the option to lease a used car, with routine maintenance also included.
A new report conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices that save lives.
New technologies are creating opportunities no one could have imagined. To understand Uber’s place in that trend, we commissioned a survey of our driver-partners and put together a comprehensive analysis.
