Philly’s Got the Power of Choice
At last, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: choose your Uber vehicle! No more, ordering multiple cars for 5 of your friends, no more “we’re working on it, hang in there!” Tomorrow, July 4th, 2012, we’re giving you the freedom to ride in style AND choose your vehicle type. Here’s how it will work:
Our standard black car service. Choose this option and a high-end sedan or SUV will be curbside in minutes. We guarantee that cars in this option will seat up to 4 people. Note: if you choose Black and are picked up by an SUV, the pricing for the Black option will apply.
The big dogs. SUVs will seat up to 6 people – now you can roll deep without fear of someone having to Uber alone.
To choose what type of vehicle you want, you’ll need to use our iPhone or Android apps. At the top of the map, select the type of vehicle you want. Set your pickup location, hit request and that’s it! As usual, you’ll receive a text letting you know that your driver is on the way, and another when the driver has arrived. You can view our rates at anytime by selecting the car types icon in the top right corner.
You asked for it, we made it happen, and we hope you’re as excited as we are to pick your ride.
Team Uber Philly
A typical ride: you request, have small talk with your driver, and safely get where you need to go. For Jonathan, a driver-partner in California, his rides are anything but ordinary — he wants his passengers to have fun and turned each trip into a dance party — and now the latest viral video. We caught up with the man in front of the cam to learn more about what inspired him to create this feel-good video.
A new report conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices that save lives.
New technologies are creating opportunities no one could have imagined. To understand Uber’s place in that trend, we commissioned a survey of our driver-partners and put together a comprehensive analysis.
