Uber has officially launched in New Delhi
Last night the capital of India celebrated the official arrival of Uber in Delhi! We hosted our official launch party at the fabulous Oberoi Hotel Rooftop with breathtaking views of this gorgeous city! India Gate, Delhi Golf Club and Humayun’s Tomb were lit up in full glory and our guests arrived to the venue in #UberStyle to show their love and support for Uber’s arrival.
We began our testing phase in Delhi just a few weeks ago, and the love and appreciation that Delhi has given us has been phenomenal! Delhi has adopted Uber like we’ve been a part of the city’s DNA for years. So whether it’s a regular trip to the office in Gurgaon, a special date night in Hauz Khas, or a late night drop-off at the airport, Uber is the way Delhi likes to roll. We’ve loved being here, and that’s why we want to make this thing official: Uber has now launched in New Delhi!
We’re looking forward to the journey ahead in the NCR as we continue to expand and grow! For additional details on coverage areas and pricing, please visit our New Delhi city page.
If you still have not had a chance to travel with us, you do not know what you are missing. Download the Uber app for iPhone or Android or go to m.uber.com, and use the promo code UberDelhiLaunch and enjoy 2 free rides up to Rs.500, each!
We have developed a new pilot program – Xchange Leasing – which is a leasing option administered by an Uber subsidiary and designed to fit with the flexibility that drivers value most. The Xchange lease is one of a kind, and offers value that traditional auto leases do not provide. Unlike most multi-year leases that have high fees for early termination, drivers who participate in Xchange for at least 30 days will be able to return the car with only two weeks notice, and limited additional costs. The program allows for unlimited mileage and the option to lease a used car, with routine maintenance also included.
A new report conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices that save lives.
New technologies are creating opportunities no one could have imagined. To understand Uber’s place in that trend, we commissioned a survey of our driver-partners and put together a comprehensive analysis.
