A Sweet, Dairy Surprise for Cowtown
The Calgary Stampede has come and gone, and we hope you had a great time!
We wish we could have been a part of the event to ensure Calgarians had access to safe and reliable transportation options during this busy time. Unfortunately, big taxi companies are working to distort the facts around what is preventing competition for more options.
The current minimum fare requirements in Calgary prevent consumers from experiencing the benefits of expanded access to safer, cheaper, and more reliable transportation options. We believe residents deserve options at all price points, not simply the highest end and look forward to working with the city to ensure Uber is able to connect drivers with riders throughout Calgary.
How does #UberIceCream work?

We hope to see you again soon Calgary.

Today, we are excited to announce that Uber will give $5.5M to support a new robotics faculty chair as well as three fellowships at CMU. This gift is part of a partnership we announced earlier this year. In addition, we’re pumped to be part of a growing innovation ecosystem in Pittsburgh that includes world leading research institutions and companies, as well as an increasing number of start-ups.
A new report conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices that save lives.
