Hey Miss Forgetful, We’ve Got a Lost & Found That Works

One of the tremendous advantages of riding via Uber is that if you leave something in the car, your chances of getting it back are ridiculously high.
Here are just a few of the lost items we’ve returned to riders:
- Phones (iPhone / Blackberry / Zack Morris brick)
- Car Keys
- Cameras (SLR & disposable)
- Wallets (w/ cash)
- Driver’s Licenses
- Scarves, Sweaters and Blazers
In the last two months (once we realized this would be a great stat to keep) we’ve had 33 people report lost items, 29 of which ended up back in the owners’ hands, and the others weren’t certain they didn’t leave their goods at some other location.
The meticulous trip details that we log at Uber make it easy for us to track down your driver, trip information AND lost items. The drivers often contact us to let us know when they’ve found items in the car in hopes that we can get them back in your hands quickly. They’ll sometimes even return to the drop off location to try and find the rider on their own. No lost and found form to fill out. Hassle-free. The way it should be.
We have developed a new pilot program – Xchange Leasing – which is a leasing option administered by an Uber subsidiary and designed to fit with the flexibility that drivers value most. The Xchange lease is one of a kind, and offers value that traditional auto leases do not provide. Unlike most multi-year leases that have high fees for early termination, drivers who participate in Xchange for at least 30 days will be able to return the car with only two weeks notice, and limited additional costs. The program allows for unlimited mileage and the option to lease a used car, with routine maintenance also included.
A new report conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices that save lives.
